How to Get What You Want in 2020

If you’re unsure of where the hell to start this new year with your goals and getting shit done and working towards making next time this year look 10 times more amazing then today, no worries, I gotcha covered. Today is all about getting what you want in 2020.

So it is the first full week of January and now that the New Years dust has settled, I hope that you are still feeling motivated to get shit done this year, because it is officially time to put the peddle to the medal.

Goal smashing is my jam, and while I don’t personally need any particular reason to set a new intention or goal, i do love the energy that a new time frame brings, Monday’s, a new moon, the beginning of a new month or quarter and especially the start of a brand spanking new year.

Now, in my experience, the best place to start when it comes to really getting what you want is by setting an intention. Setting an intention for an entire year would look something like a list of goals that you would love to achieve by the end of the year, or even a radass vision board that you can look at every day. And if you’re anything like me you have both!

When you set intentions, you’re not only attempting to remind yourself about what you set out to accomplish this year but you’re always activating the good vibes around you that you will need to pull it off. after I make my vision board for the year, I give my vision board a good once-over every morning and I refer back to my yearly goals list at least once a week, just to keep me on my toes. The key to harnessing the power to your vision board folks is to always feel hopeful, and excited about what you intend to manifest, never look at your vision board if you’re feeling like shit or doubtful that you can achieve what’s on there, you will in fact manifest the opposite. You’ve been warned.

Now after setting your intentions for the New Year, the next best thing to do is to carve out time in your daily schedule to meditate. Now, before you start whining about how meditation doesn’t work for you, let me explain first WHY it’s so important that you figure it the fuck out.

If you currently have some big ass goals on that vision board you should be making as you read this, you need time to mentally focus on them so that you can eventually experience them in real life.

And when we’re moving and shaking and doing all of the things that are required of us within our current reality from the time that we wake up to the time that we go to sleep, it doesn’t leave us much time to even think about a new reality let alone create one. But you are the creator of your reality so ya gotta make time to create it!

Comment down below “I am the radass creator of my reality” and then I want you to randomly tell yourself that all day as a reminder that getting what you want in 2020 starts with you boo!

To make room in our lives for the things that we want, we have to make time to be in the present moment at least one time during the day, even if just for 15 minutes. The best time to meditate is in the morning just after you’ve waken up and before all of your impending future thoughts hit (ie: anxiety).

Meditation is just as important to your mind and body as drinking water. So before you grab your phone, before you check your email, before you even put your feet on the floor, tomorrow morning I want you to sit up, light a nice candle, out on some meditation music, close your eyes, and try to keep your mind as clear as possible for 15 minutes. If you are new to meditation or just hate it, start with 5 minutes every day for a week, then 10, then 15.

Getting what you want this year is not just about the physical labor you put in, having a get-shit-done mentality is really half the battle.

Dream big, kid!
